A small heavenly atoll located some forty kilometers north of Tahiti, Tetiaroa is a private island of the Iles du Vent group in the French Polynesia archipelago. Marlon Brando acquired a 99-year lease for this atoll from the Polynesian government, but he can visit during the day from Tahiti. The small rudimentary hotel and the airstrip are now closed, a luxury hotel project is being studied.
